This article is going to give you the best idea of how to create perfect SEO articles that please the search engines but there is much more to SEO than just article creation.
What Are Well Written SEO Articles?
Let’s assume for 1 minute that not all of us reading this post understand what SEO is as well as not knowing how to write SEO articles.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
Simply put you are optimizing your websites content in a way so the search engines understand what it is your website is all about.
We have to tell the search engines what our websites are about so they can serve up our websites to users at the best possible time.
The search engines use (what they call) spiders to crawl our websites pages, therefore we have to give as many indications as we can on each page so the spiders know exactly what our webpages are all about.
If you get your SEO correct then this will unlock the door to the #1 thing all online marketers dream of – UNLIMITED FREE WEBSITE TRAFFIC!
Always Create Unique Content
This goes without saying so I won’t go into too much detail here but make sure all your content is unique.
You must NEVER copy and paste content from another website because the search engines will know and you will never rank.
If you hire writers for your content creation always run the article through CopyScape to make sure the content is unique before you publish it.
The Ultimate Guide To Creating Perfect SEO Articles
You already know what the article you’re creating is going to be about so now you need to do some keyword research.
Once upon a time keywords played an important factor in webpage rankings but some say not so much in 2016.
Even though keywords may not be as crucial in the eyes of Google as they once were it’s still good practice to include them within your article.
The best practice for keyword research is to focus on 1 keyword per post.
Don’t try and rank a post for too many keywords.
Another tip to keyword research is to target long tail keywords.
As a rule of thumb your keyword density should be about 1 time for every 100 – 150 words of text you write.
Don’t overuse your chosen keyword as this will be considered ‘Keyword Stuffing’ and you will be slapped by the search engines.
It’s a good idea to use 1 of the many keyword tools out there.
H1 – H6 header Tags
While not a major ranking factor H1 – H6 header tags are still important.
Include your chosen keywords in your H1 header tags 1 time.
Search engine spiders do read header tags but the main purpose is to break up your post creating a better SEO article and providing a better user experience for your user.
DO NOT abuse header tags by placing them too many times within your post containing your keywords as this could have a negative effect on the overall ranking of your post.

The Word Count For The Perfect SEO Article
Although there is no specific amount of words we must use in order to create perfect SEO articles, studies have shown the amount of words has risen from what it once was in years gone by.
Only a few years ago a 300 word article was considered a decent length but in order to achieve higher rankings in 2016 we must create articles that are some way longer than that.
Some say 1200 – 1500 words whilst others say the best length for SEO articles is 2000 words plus.
Personally I always try and stick to between 1200 – 2000+ words just to be safe.
The reason longer articles perform better in the search results is this – there are simply more words and images on the page to to rank for.
Also, people tend to link to and share longer articles.
Break up the article with header tags and bullet points so the reader can digest the information if they are quickly skimming through it.
This doesn’t mean that if you create an article that is less than the figures I’ve provided that it will never rank.
Shorter articles still rank (and rank well sometimes) but longer articles certainly perform better if they are well written and structured properly.
Use Image Alt Attributes
Adding engaging images to your blog posts is crucial but the only problem is Google can not (as yet) read images.
Google understands text and not the image but we can correct that by adding Alt Attribute or Alternative Text into the image manually.
To do this just click on the image you want to add the Alt Text to and you will see a small pencil icon –
The next box you will see is like the box below.
Add your chosen keywords into the spaces highlighted by the red arrows –
Interlink Your Posts
Good practice when trying to write perfect SEO articles is to link your posts together.
Always try to link your new posts to your old posts so that when the search engines crawl your new posts they will also re-crawl your old posts too.
For example –
If I were creating a post that mentioned backlinks somewhere I could link back to my post from this site – what are backlinks post.
Remove Stop Words From Your Permalinks
The structure of your permalinks is very important.
I always set my structure as the image below and I do this because the default setting of your permalink structure is not very SEO friendly at all.
Always have your keywords in your permalink and try to remove any stop words from there too.
You can change the slug at the end of your permalink to include your chosen keywords.
You can see a very comprehensive list of stop words right here in this article.
Post Meta Description
Not adding a post meta description tag is very bad practice when SEO content writing.
The meta tag itself has no effect on the overall ranking of your post but this is the snippet of information about your post that will appear in the SERP’s.
Your meta tag should be between 120 – 156 characters in length so use it wisely.
DO – include your keywords in your meta tag
DO – sell the post in a way that users will want to click your URL.
